Volunteering

Volunteers play a vital role at Gibbs Memorial Library by supporting and enhancing the Library's programs, services, and mission with their time, talent and skills.

Examples of work volunteers do are: staff the circulation desk, assist with shelving and maintaining materials, help out at events, provide program support, and assist with book sales.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library is a 100% volunteer organization that supports Gibbs Memorial Library in their effort to provide the widest and best possible service to the community. The Organization is empowered to conduct fund raising events, such as book sales, to provide financial support for the annual Summer Reading Program and Story in the Stocking.

It is a 501 (c) (3) organization, thus all donations to it are tax deductible.

Inquire at the front desk to become a member.

Book Donations

Due to a variety of circumstances, the Library cannot currently accept donations of books.

Memorials

When a donation is made in memory of an individual, a card is mailed to the family informing them of the gift and giving them the option of selecting a book or its subject matter. Then a plaque is placed inside the front cover with the name of the donor and the honoree.
